The second edition of “Circus Expo” returns to Latina again this year, thanks also to the partnership between the Circus Festival and “Sapienza”, the University of Rome.
“Circus Expo” is the title given to one of the additional events that will enrich the thirteenth edition of the International Circus Festival “City of Latina” from 13th to 17th October 2011. The organizational team will be supplemented once again by interns from the Degree Courses of the University of Rome “Sapienza”, the largest University in Europe by number of students.
The huge success of the last edition of the International Circus Festival “City of Latina” was not only attained by the quality of the shows, but also by the rich series of additional events that enhanced the whole event. Amongst these, the “Circus Expo”, an exposition of original circus-themed works by photographers, artists, sculptors, model experts and others, proved to be very popular with audiences and international guests alike. Delighted by the success of this event, the production team of the International Circus Festival “City of Latina” is already organizing a second edition of “Circus Expo”, which will be open from 13th to 17th October within the Circus complex at Latina. Once again, the object of the exposition will be to present the many different facets of circus culture through visual arts and communications, thus extending to an even wider public the cultural aspects of the circus world. Those interested in exhibiting their works at the event should contact the production offices of the International Circus Festival “City of Latina” by email to segreteria@festivalcircolatina.com before 18.30 on Tuesday 31st May with their request, which must include, as well as contact numbers and email, the following: Description of type of work to be exhibited (photos, paintings etc.), the size of area desired and any further requirements for facilitating exhibition. Requests arriving beyond the above date will not be taken into consideration. Participation in “Circus Expo” is free and there is no fee to pay. Neither will there be any payment for participating. The exposition will be set up on the morning of Wednesday 12th October, inaugurated on Thursday 13th October, and end on Monday 17th October, to coincide with the final evening of the Festival. The production team of the International Circus Festival “City of Latina” will contact each candidate in order to discuss any logistic aspects related to the event.
As well as “Circus Expo”, the thirteenth edition of the International Circus Festival “City of Latina” will be hosting other additional events. The substantial work necessary for organizing all these events will be assisted by a prestigious collaboration with the academic world: the “Giulio Montico” Cultural Association, which produces the International Circus Festival “City of Latina”, and the University of Rome “Sapienza” have formalized an agreement by which students and newly qualified Laureates can work a period of internship in the production offices of the Festival in order to use their training and work skills in real situations.
