FESTIVAL DE LATINA: LES PREMIERS PROTAGONISTES.

First two numbers participating in the 13th edition of the Festival officially confirmed from among the 350 applications already received
Two young European talents: duo Ballance from Romania and Anastasia from Greece.
The selection of candidates by the “Artistic Commission” of the Festival is proving difficult again this year. So far we have received 350 applications from candidates in all five continents of the world and if it goes on like this we expect to exceed 500 applicants. Five months from the thirteenth edition of the International Circus Festival “City of Latina” the Production Office announces the names of the first two numbers to be selected to take part in this important circus event, which will take place at Latina from October 13th-17th.
The duo Ballance is composed of 26 year-old Romanians Dan-Florin Tazlauanu and Constantin Ciobotaru. Both artists have degrees from the Sport and Physical Education Faculty of the University of Brasov (Transylvania). During their sporting careers both performers have gained high places in competition in gymnastic disciplines including the pommel horse and the rings. In 2004 Dan and Constantin started to perform in a “hand to hand” number, a discipline that typifies a fusion between gymnastic standards and circus acrobatics. Strength, resistance, balance and symmetry are the key words to their elegant choreography.
Anastasia is a young Greek performer. Born in Salonica in 1983, at 21 she decided to become a circus artist: after frequenting several academies in various European countries, Anastasia completed her studies at the University of Dance and Circus in Stockholm. Her participation in the Festival of Latina marks her début in international competition. Anastasia blends a solid technique with feminine sensuality in her “aerial rope” number.
