Intercultural activities with the youth of Latina for the young artists present at the Festival and open doors for the differently abled
The first two projects which will be enriching the programme of the upcoming thirteenth edition of the International Circus Festival ”City of Latina”, which will take place from October 13th to 17th, are announced today.
The International Circus Festival “City of Latina”, in its capacity as an international crossroads for young people of diverse and varied nationalities, cultures, religions and languages, offers a unique opportunity for cultural interaction and activities. With the hope of making all the participating and guest artists feel at home during their stay in Latina, the young volunteers will be proposing and hosting various initiatives to welcome the young artists arriving here from all over the world. From the 13th to the 17th of October, in the Foyer area, our guests will find the “Artists’ Welcome Staff”. This aims to be a space for young people of all the nations present to meet, interact and make new friends, both amongst our performers and also with the young people of Latina. Activities will be organised on a day-to-day basis, both within the Circus Village area and also in the larger context of the city of Latina and further afield, promoting friendship and interaction amongst all the young people present. A special prize will be awarded by the young volunteers to the performer who our young volunteers vote as the person who best integrated with the young people of Latina during the Festival.
During this its 13th edition, the International Circus Festival “City of Latina”, with the assistance of the young volunteers, once again raises the curtain of its magical Big Top shows to differently abled guests. The Festival offers the chance for these guests to ‘live a dream’ in a different and special dimension, giving them a few hours in a world that draws their imagination beyond the reality and confines of daily life. To this end, the Festival is offering some free places at selected shows, located in a dedicated area, for the exclusive use of differently abled guests. These guests will be received, accompanied and assisted during the show by the young volunteers. To book this service, please call 329.8879216 (Federica) only on October 10th, 11th, 12th between 6pm and 8pm.

Three guests at the International Circus Festival “City of Latina”
Like every year, the presence at the Festival of clowns, who occupy a prime position in Circuses rings around the world alongside acrobats and jugglers, is assured. Three Special Guests from the category will be present at the 13th edition of the International Circus Festival “City of Latina”: Paolo Casanova, Mr. & Mrs. Dittmar and Mike Togni.
Paolo Casanova, under the stage name Carillon, began his artistic career at ten years of age. He was immediately fascinated by clowns, and his performance is also inspired by the world of mime artists. Carillon is a silent clown, shy, reserved and able to communicate by a simple gesture. With his number, which we can translate as “Soap Bubble Sensations”, he uses and animates soap bubbles of varying sizes to music, giving an enchantingly poetic performance that evokes the world of fairytales.
Partners in life as well as onstage, Agnes Nemeth and Roland Dittmar present a comical number entitled “Mr and Mrs Dittmar”. This is a rather curious love story between a man who is only slightly over 1.60m tall and a woman who is over two metres tall. Roland Dittmar began working as an acrobat in the Circus at the age of 14; Agnes Nemeth used to be a basketball player up until 2000, when she and Roland started working together in circuses all over the world.
Mike Togni belongs to one of the most celebrated Circus families in Italy: he is a fourth-generation performer of the Togni family. Having been born and brought up within the Circus, Mike Togni has learnt and practised several disciplines, and has chosen to express himself by donning the costume of the clown, assisted by Manuela Barlay. Mike Togni inherited noteworthy administrative skills from his great-grandfather, and even now he combines his artistic activity with that of the direction of Circus shows.
